Christmas gift - free music!

I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate, and all the best for the new year, which WILL see new music I promise!

I'd like to point any UK residents toward a time-limited special offer - available ONLY on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Get Jesta's 1997 2 track single for FREE!

To do this you simply need to:

Night Guy Under The Rock

Night Guy Under The Rock - one of the best shows around, especially if you're into Electronica, played Jesta's "The Sexy Girl & Her Mate That Fancies Me" on their show number 39. Check it out here. Thanks Guy David!

A virtual makeover

I decided it was time to give my Second Life avatar a mini-makeover. Shorter hair, new clothes and new sunglasses were in my shopping bags after a good browse at the shops. The next thing Id like to do is make Jesta Noonan look a little more like the real me. He's not too far off, but could do with some tweaking.

thesixtyone.com

Jesta is now on a great new music site called thesixtyone.com - The Sixty One is a website that "makes music discovery a fun, adventurous experience". You can listen to thousands of tracks for free and if you like what you hear "bump" the song to show your support. The more you bump, the higher in the chart the song rises.

So, check it out and please bump Jesta's songs:

Following guidelines the Pete Townshend way

I needed to open a box today, but noticed that it read:

"Do not open with a sharp instrument"

So I carefully tuned a Les Paul slightly flat, took a big swing and smacked it as hard as I could with my guitar! Needless to say the result was less than satisfactory.

Fortunately my 3 year old son wasn't around at the time - only because I was following advice I'd read on a medicine bottle - "Keep away from children".

Suffering from tonsillitis

As a singer, I've been pretty lucky so far when it comes to being ill. At worst I might get a migraine which makes recording or performing live somewhat of a nightmare. Any sore throats I've had haven't really affected my work too much.

IK Multimedia ARC solving my room problems

One of the biggest problems moving home has had on my music production is the variation in the way different rooms sound. I was nicely set up in my studio room for a number of years at my previous address and the room was covered in acoustic foam tiles.

Now I'm in a much smaller room which has all sorts of problems: not enough space for any real sound treatment, too boxy, speakers too close to the walls... I've been slowly getting used to it but it's not ideal and with another imminent address change I've been looking for some kind of continuity when mixing tracks.

D4E Hip Hop Mixtape

As ever I'm grateful to any podcasters who play Jesta songs on their shows and the latest to do so is D4E Hip Hop Mixtape who featured "(She's So) Bitchy" as the first song in their most recent mix.

Jesta on Musicians Cooler podcast

One of my top 5 favourite podcasts not only played Jesta's "Independence Day" but also featured a very special "Tales from the Road" on its February 4th show. Thanks to "Jammin'" Dave Jackson for his fantastic Musicians Cooler podcast.

Jesta Logo Competition - early warning!

So here we are in 2008 already. This year I've got some serious goals in mind amongst which are my first full album (which still needs writing, recording and releasing - but I'm optimistic!) and a overall increase in activity on the Jesta front.
